Citrus pectin is a plant fiber found in the white part of the
rind of citrus fruits. Citrus pectin has both cholesterol lowering
properties and directly inhibits cholesterol from forming sticky
plaque, clogging the walls of blood vessels. Like Beta-Sitosterol,
it has the effects of decreasing cholesterol absorption and
decreasing enzymatic cholesterol production in the liver. The fact
that citrus pectin also works at reducing plaque out in the blood
vessels is an added bonus. A study published in the Journal of
Clinical Cardiology showed citrus pectin supplementation
significantly decreased blood cholesterol levels without altering
patients diet or lifestyle. Even greater results may be expected
with proper diet and lifestyle changes.

Citrus Pectin is a natural source of soluble
dietary fiber providing potential benefits supported by science.
Studies have found that individuals who consume diets high in
fiber enjoy healthier lifestyles and improved blood chemistry.
Supplementation with Citrus Pectin allows us to reach established
dietary guidelines for fiber.
A recent study published in the May, 2004 issue of the Journal
of Agriculture and Food Chemistry shows that Citrus Pectin
contains a powerful compound called polymethoxylated flavones or
PMFs that can lower bad LDL cholesterol as effectively as the
deadly stain drugs and without side-effects. Read a summary of

Extensive research by Texas A & M University's Agricultural
Research Center has shown that Citrus Pectin may prevent prostate
